To celebrate an early Thanksgiving, several Dallas Cowboys, joined by Billy Crystal, served meals to over 200 homeless individuals at the Salvation Army’s homeless shelter in Dallas.
"It's a sense of giving back. We see that we get a lot of things that they don't have, meaning some of the monetary things, some of the glory and fame playing with the Dallas Cowboys,” linebacker DeMarcus Ware said. “But all that set aside, the things that really matters to us, and I'm talking about all the players, is giving back. Having that sense of humbleness, that's what we get back from here."
Tashard Choice added, "My mom always told me, 'You've got to be more than a football player. That doesn't need to be what somebody remembers you for.' It's important the impact you can have on people's lives."
In addition to Ware and Choice, the other players who participated included Jason Witten, Duke Preston, and Jesse Holley, plus most of the team's rookies.
