From the most recent reports on TMZ and other celebrity news sites, the sage between Tiger Woods and his wife is sounding more and more like a daytime drama! To recap, early speculation from the media, specifically The National Enquirer, indicated that Tiger Woods, superstar sports icon in the world of golf and beyond, was having an affair with a woman named Rachel Uchitel, an 'events planner'.
Then, early morning on Friday (11/27), Woods was involved in a suspicious 'car crash' at his home in Orlando, FL in which he sustained injuries that resulted in him being admitted to the local hospital. He was later released.
Now, according to the Florida Highway Patrol, Woods and his wife are not talking to authorities after numerous attempts to contact the couple. It is speculated that the crash was the end result of an argument between Woods and his wife, former model Elin Nordegren. The fight allegedly got so heated that Woods, with his face visibly scraped and bruised, ran for cover to his Cadillac SUV. Woods' wife followed, golf club in hand, and commenced to beating the SUV and in the process shattered the glass window of the vehicle. Distracted, Woods hit a fire hydrant and ran into a tree in a neighbor's yard.
No one at press time knows for sure when Woods and his wife will talk to authorities about the incident, most likely for fear that Nordegren will be arrested for domestic abuse. According to TMZ, a friend of Woods said that he told him his wife went 'ballistic at around 2:00 AM Friday morning because of reports that he had cheated on her. Woods then told the friend that Nordegren scratched up his face. He also told the friend that he seemed 'out of it' after the crash due to prescription painkillers he was taking due to a sports-related injury
Woods' wife initially told the Windemere Police Department that she went outside, saw her husband had struck a fire hydrant and a tree, and then went back inside to the house for a golf club to use to help get her husband out of the vehicle.
Woods has a scheduled golf tournament on Thursday. Whether or not he shows up to it is now questionable.
