Columbus' days of adventure are over but yours aren't!

Christopher Columbus was an explorer and we can be thankful that he had the courage to take a journey to help discover the New World here in America.  So if you have the day off and want something fun to do, make like Columbus and go out on a fun adventure in the Sacramento area!

While most of the celebrations and festivals for Columbus Day were this weekend, you still have a chance to get out and do something fun.  If you have little ones or your kids are out of school you can have a fun day and relive the Gold Rush!

Coloma Gold Rush Live will relive the Gold Rush Days with people dressed up as miners and other characters at the Marshall Discovery State Historic Park.  The park is located on Hwy 49 between Placerville and Aurburn and it will be a day filled with gold panning, demonstrations, crafts, food, events for kids, and fun!  Hours are from 10 am to 4 pm.  Find out more information here - Coloma Gold Rush Live.  

While you can't sail the ocean blue, you can hunt for gold!  So get out and enjoy the day with the family and explore like Columbus!  You might even strike it rich as you make a new discovery and have fun!
