Now that Fox has released its midseason schedule, one thing is apparent: Fox doesn't fear fierce competition, or the low numbers. J.J. Abrams himself said that Fox is incredibly supportive of Fringe, and that they are not willing to let it go so easily. Recently some have reported that Fringe execs have planned six seasons for Fringe.

However, is the faith that Fox has in J.J. Abrams' Fringe misplaced, or is the show itself misplaced? Time and time again, Fringe has proven that it has a loyal following, but also time has proven that Thursday nights just don't work well for the show.

So what does this mean? Is Fox writing the show off, and just letting it die? If J.J. Abrams' own words are to be believed, then we can expect more, but is Mr. Abrams throwing us a party line in the hopes that people will tune in to keep up with the show?
