There are many foreclosures out there that are very inexpensive to buy. They can be found at prices as low as $5,000.00. A lot of these foreclosures are in need of remodeling. Below is a plan for an interior makeover that is estimated to cost less than $3,000.00 if you do the work yourself.

Lowes is a great place to buy inexpensive products to upgrade your foreclosure. All of the products were priced there and the quotes given are for a 1500 square foot home. Labor costs are not included. Lowes offers many classes on how to do home remodeling yourself.

The kitchen is the centerpiece of a home for a lot of home buyers. The quality of the kitchen can make or break a sale. A kitchen floor alternating in black and white vinyl tiles will add interest to your foreclosure. 12” x 12” Armstrong tiles at Lowes are $.68 a piece. A new granite laminate countertop in black costs around $80.00. A new, double basin, stainless steel sink costs $50.00. Repaint the cabinets white and add interesting silver cabinet pulls.

Paint the entire inside of the house white and install wall to wall Stainmaster carpet in a tan type color for $700.00 - $1500.00 at $1.98 per square foot.

Assuming that the bathroom shower, tub and sink basin are white, tile the bathrooms in the black and white vinyl flooring.

Complete the home with new white blinds in each window for $5.00 a piece.
