National Pomegranate Month

November is the month of what?
Every month has been declared the official month of something. This seems like the perfect opportunity to explore some of the interesting “official month of” that many of us are unaware of. November has a fairly long list of official month awareness items. From Lung Cancer to Homeless youth, and even an odd tradition of not shaving… here is the full list of November’s monthly observances:

Did you know that November is:

Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month
National Novel Writing Month
Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month
Transgender Awareness Month
American Diabetes Month
Lung Cancer Awareness Month
National Homeless Youth Awareness Month
Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis Awareness Month

And lastly:
National Pomegranate Month

And worldwide:
In Australia and New Zealand November is known as the month of Movember, a month long event where men grow out their moustache’s and raise funds for men’s health issues. There is a similar observance in the United States known as Novembeard – so stop shaving and sport those beards!
