If you would like a great way to spend Halloween with your kids that is fun and safe, then you will want to be in Downtown Kingsport on October 31st. The fun starts at 3:00 p.m. with a Haunted Half Marathon and Monster Dash for the kids on the lawn of the Chamber of Commerce, located at 151 East Main Street. Adults will love the Haunted Half. (For more information on Kingsport’s newest half marathon, visit their website at: Haunted Half: It’s wicked fast!! ) On Broad Street, you will be able to enjoy the decorated trunks and treats. The best decorated trunk will win $250.00. (If you would like to participate, just give Debbie Dykes at River Mountain Antiques and Primitives a call at 423-247-8663. You can decorate or just bring a trunk full of candy for the kids.) There will be a Ghoul Walk at 9:00 p.m., and you can also watch some scary movies on the outside of the Citizens Supply building. Downtown restaurants will also have specials for you to enjoy. Of course, everyone will be eager to see great costumes and car decorations. This promises to be a fun Halloween for all! So, be sure to visit Downtown Kingsport this Halloween.
