NORTH AMERICA
In Tennessee, Zachary Scott published a new book, "Tootie Green." It is a story of a young, poor teenager who later became a victim of human trafficking after running away from her absive foster home. ICE raises awareness of human trafficking through new ads campaign.
EUROPE
In Denmark, a 61 years old man was accused of abusing three children in the border of Thailand. He will be facing at least 10 years of imprisonment if found guilty of pedophilia.
ASIA
China nets yearly 1000 human trafficking rings in seven months. More than 6000 victims had been rescued and approximately 6200 suspects were arrested during the crackdown.
Israel police arrest suspects in human organs trafficking network. A 67 years old employee of a hospital is accused of transporting organs to China, South America, and the U.S.
In India, police arrested a 33 years old man for raping his 9 years old daughter and forcing her into prostitution.
AFRICA
Mauritania: UN experts warned the country of slavery practice.
Uganda: human trafficking increases as child sacrifice is on the rise. However, the Uganda anti-human trafficking law has been inadequate to prosecute perpetrators preying upon these child victims. Such ritual ceremony caused more than 300 cases of disappearance and murder last year. The report identifies increasing witchcraft ritual as the cause behind such atrocity in the country.
