In a trio of games, two of which were played on the road, the Trail Blazers picked up just one win to move their overall season record to 2-3. Here's a quick 3 game recap for those who were still too hungover from the Oregon defeat of USC on Saturday night:

@ Houston, L 111-107

After easily handling the Rockets in the season opening win 96-87, the Blazers came out flat Saturday night in Houston. Portland had no answer to the Rockets' back court. Ariza scored 33 and Brooks added 28 to put Portland away for good. Despite Roy's game high 42 points, the Blazers would ultimately go on to lose 111-107.

MVP: Brandon Roy. 42 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal (-1)

Unsung Hero: LaMarcus Aldridge. 27 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal (+8)

Game-Changing Play: Trevor Ariza hit a 3-pointer to put Houston up by  5 after the Blazers had made it a 2 point game.

It was over when: Aldridge fouled out and Brooks hit a pair of free throws with just 10 seconds left.

@ Oklahoma City, W 83-74

Portland was largely in control for the majority of the game. Things got close on a couple of occasions, but the Blazers never lost their composure and ended their road trip with a solid victory over Kevin Durant and the Thunder.

Despite scoring just 18 points, Steve Blake led Portland in scoring. Greg Oden picked up his first double-double of the 2009-10 season, scoring 12 and rebounding 10 while picking up just 4 personal fouls. Durant and Roy both struggled offensively, with 16 points each.

MVP: Greg Oden. 12 points, 10 rebounds (2 offensive,) 1 block (+9)

Unsung Hero: Steve Blake. 18 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal (+13)

Game-Changing Play: Andre Miller drove the lane with just a 4 point lead and 7:35 remaining, hitting a layup and putting Portland up by six.

It was over when: Brandon Roy hit a pair of free throws with 3 and a half minutes to go to Portland up by 8 and they would never look back.

vs. Atlanta, L 97-91

Despite shooting just 39% from the field in the first half, the Hawks only trailed the Blazers by a single point, 48-47. Oden had 6 points, 7 boards and 3 personal fouls in just 10 minutes of first half action. Aldridge added 14 points and 4 boards in 18 minutes in the first half. Roy also had 14 first half points for the Blazers, while Jamal Crawford led all first half scores with 16 points in 16 minutes.

Portland knew going into the second half that they'd have to cut down on fouls, especially fouls by Przybilla and Oden, who combined for 5 of Portland's 12 first half fouls.

But Portland was unable to fend off a feisty Atlanta team Tuesday night. The Blazers tied the game with 7 and a half minutes remaining in the 4th quarter on a Brandon Roy jumper, but would surrender the tie and never see a share of the lead again. Outlaw did his best to keep Portland in the game while Brandon Roy's struggles continued with sloppy ball handling and inconsistent shots. Despite getting the start at center, Oden played in just 16 minutes thanks to his 5 personal fouls.

Portland will now have 2 days off to try to get things together before they face the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night.

MVP: LaMarcus Aldridge. 20 points, 14 rebounds, 2 steals (-1)

Unsung Hero: Travis Outlaw. 19 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, 2 blocks (-5)

Game-Changing Play: Travis Outlaw scored 7 straight Portland points to get the Blazers within striking distance with under three minutes to go. But a huge 3 from Joe Johnson on the ensuing Atlanta possession put the Blazers away.

It was over when: Josh Smith picked up a defensive board off a missed POR shot, sent the outlet pass up the court to Jamal Crawford, who sent a behind the back dish to Al Horford for a two-handed power dunk to put the Hawks up by 6 with 56 seconds remaining.
