Lap 188: Marcos Ambrose starts the race in P17 as due to rain canceling qualifying on Saturday and field was set by driver's points.

Lap 167: Ambrose running in the top ten.

Lap 165: Ambrose running in the top five.

Lap 146: Kurt Busch wrecks; Ambrose and Brian Vickers make contact causing damage to the right front fender of Ambrose's car.

Lap 143: Ambrose pits and makes repairs.

Lap 133: Green flag Ambrose restarts 19th.

Lap 127: Ambrose back in the top ten.

Lap 108: Ambrose running in sixth place.

Lap 99: Ambrose leads the race during green flag pit stops.

Lap 98: Ambrose sustained more damage to his car; left rear; pits with 4 tires and repairs to the left rear fender; re-enters the race in 29th position.

Lap 81: During yellow flag for debris, Ambrose enters pit road for repairs on left fender. When the green flag dropped Ambrose was in 30th position.

Lap 59: Ambrose back in the top ten.

Lap 52: Shuffled back to 18th; Denny Hamlin blows an engine and brings out the caution.

Lap 48: Ambrose on pit lane for tires and air pressure adjustment.

Lap 45: Back to racing.

Lap 38: Ambrose back up to third position.

Lap 35: With the help of David Stremme, Ambrose was pushed out to the front to lead a lap.

Lap 36: Ambrose back to 5th place.

Lap 26: Ambrose shuffled out of line back to the 29th position.

Lap 5: Ambrose was running just outside the top 20 when he was collected by the "big one" at Talladega. Ambrose was behind Ryan Newman when the cars ahead of them slowed down creating a backup. Newman's car flipped through the air and landed on the hood of Kevin Harvick's car.

"I’m just thankful that Ryan is okay and that’s all that matters," Ambrose said. "Cars in front of me checked up and I got hit from behind. I don’t know what started it all – don’t know what caused it. I’m just glad everyone was alright. That's all that matters."

 

Lap 5: Red flag lifted, Ambrose came to pit road for repairs to finish the race.

Lap 3: Green white checker flag finish.

Lap 2: Caution! Another Talladega "big one" with the David Reutimann, Brad Keselowski, Jeff Gordon, Casey Mears,Jeff Gordon, Martin Truex Jr., Kurt Busch, and Scott Speed. Mark Martin barrel rolled his car and kept going.

Lap 1: Race finished under caution. Jamie McMurray won the event. Ambrose finished the race in 34th place and fell one position to 18th in driver point standings.
