The American Association of University Women Reading Group invites you to an open book discussion of Lakota Woman, Mary Crow Dog's autobiography about her life as a Lakota tribe member, co-written with Richard Erdoes. This event is free and will take place today, November 2nd at 6 p.m. at the Bread Basket Café, located in the Crossroads West Shopping Center at Broadway and Stadium Boulevard, within the downtown Columbia area.
Mary Crow Dog also goes by Mary Brave Bird. In her book she paints a graphic view of what it was like being a Native American growing up in America during the 1973 siege of Wounded Knee. Come to the book discussion and voice your opinion of the book, meet other readers, and listen to what others have to say about Mary Crow Dog's account. This is a great chance to learn a bit about American history. If you haven't picked up a copy of the book, now would be a good time!
