The wind is blowing and the temperature has dropped. Take advantage of the cooler weather by spending time indoors on arts and crafts. Children love being creative, here are some fun ideas with leaves to enjoy with your child when the weather prevents you from going outside.
Leaf Collage: Have your child collect all different kinds of leaves, then get a piece of paper and a glue stick and let them stick the leaves all over the paper. This beautiful nature collage will brighten the day and makes a great display for the fridge or a frame.
Leaf Mobile: With the extra leaves you can create a leaf mobile, take a clothes hangar and some string. Make sure the pieces of string are different lengths and hang the pieces of string off the hangar. Attach different leaves to the pieces of string and you have made a leaf mobile.
Leaf Frame: Find an old picture frame and transform it into a festive fall frame by using glue to stick different leaves around it. You can also use sticks and acorns if you can find some.
Leaf Bracelet: Take a piece of tape and wrap it around your toddlers arm with the sticky side up. Tear up the leaves and place the pieces of leaves on the sticky tape to create a unique fall leaf bracelet.
Leaf Rubbings: Take a leaf and set a piece of paper over it. Let your child rub the paper over the leaf with a crayon or pencil to see the leaf shapes.
