The Resident Evil 5 demo has been out for the 360 for about a week now. This, here and now, serves as a gentle reminder.

If you have yet to play the Resident Evil 5 demo, you probably should. Me? Oh, right, me. I'm horrible with these games. With the previous entries in the series, I played a bit and found myself to scared to continue. That's right, I'm that guy. I'm the guy that can't handle the scary video games.
I can play Left 4 Dead, sure, that's no problem. Resident Evil 4? Forget it. BioShock? You must be nuts!
But the Resident Evil 5 demo isn't all that scary. Truly. The game has seen a giant shift in the way it feels as an entry in the series. Sure, there are infected running around trying to kill you. And, yes, it looks the same, sounds the same and plays the same as the others (only benchmarked to the new consoles, of course). But it just isn't as scary.
Resident Evil 5 plays like an action shooter without all the run and gun action. As is traditional with other games in the series, players must stop and then shoot. None of that crazy moving while aiming and shooting.
But aside from that, this new one really feels like Gears of War. There's the co-op factor, you watch your friend's back, and she'll watch yours. You can even team up for human co-op, just like Gears. Fighting off hordes of crazy zombies as a team is infinitely less scary. Fact.

So, get in there and play. If I can do it, so can you. This game is looking to be one of the best of 2009. You don't want to miss the boat, do you?
