H.R. 3962 is Pelosi's health care bill. It commands that we citizens purchase "an acceptable health insurance coverage". If an individual or husband and wife and qualifying children does not do so, they are subject to additional tax. There are additional penalties for non-compliance.

Section 7203 of the 2000 page bill states "misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year".

Section 7201 states "felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years". So, if a family does not purchase "acceptable" health insurance and husband and wife are imprisoned for five years they will receive free food, free shelter, free dental care, free medical care, free eye care and a gym membership to the prison exercise facilities. Their children will go to a foster care home and will receive free food, free shelter, free dental, free medical, free eye care but they may not receive a free gym membership.

The non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation publishes the JCT Letter. Further information is available from the JCT.

The question appears to be, in what country are we living?
