
It was late Sunday when four Michigan State University freshman intentionally threw a commercial type of firework used for large municipal displays at a house.
East Lansing Police Captain, Tom Johnstone said officers on duty heard the explosion and went in the direction of the smoke which ended up being on the 400 block of Grove Street.
The suspects, all 18-years old police identified as: Darby Dudley, Olivia Hudson, Sasha Savage and Nikolai Wasielewski have been charged for causing property damage and in possession of bombs with unlawful intent.

Johnstone said witnesses told officers they could feel the force of the blast across the street from where it was detonated.
Two additional explosive devices were reportedly found in the suspects’ vehicle during the arrest.
MSU Police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said in order to purchase the explosives used, people are required to have a license. He said the bombs are strong enough to seriously injure or kill a person.
Police would not speculate as to why the bomb was thrown at the house.
All were released on $2,500 cash bond. If convicted of the charges, they each face up to 20 years in prison and up to a $15,000 fine.
A hearing is set for Nov. 10 and a preliminary exam on Nov. 13.
