How open are you to being loved?

People who have hurt in relationships before sometimes struggle with this.  For some, it can be pretty scary.

Here are some signs that you might have difficulty receiving love:

  • You're hesitant to tell your partner what you really need.
  • You block intimacy when you and your partner are feeling emotionally close.
  • You fear no one will give you what you need.

You can learn to let yourself be loved.  There's a great book by Harville Hendrix, Ph.D. about this very topic called, Receiving Love. I highly recommend this book and other work by him.

A therapist can also help you explore your fears about connecting with people - and help you to learn how to open yourself up to receive love.
