While most Halloween activities are geared toward families, there are still plenty of ghoulish activities to enjoy even if you don't have little trick or treaters to parade around. Below are five reasonably priced suggestions to answer the question: "What to do this Halloween in Denver?"

What to do this Halloween in Denver Option #1

"Haunted" plays at The Firehouse Theater, 7653 E. 1st Pl. in Denver's Lowry neighborhood, through Nov. 7. The show is described as "a bone chilling theatrical exploration of Colorado's most notoriously haunted locations." Tickets are available online for $17. Tonight's show starts at 7:30 p.m. or, extend Halloween through the weekend by seeing it tomorrow at 6:30 p.m.

What to do this Halloween in Denver Option #2

Tour the historic Byers-Evans House, 1310 Bannock St. in Denver, and hear ghost stories based on real-life events in different rooms throughout the house.  Tickets are $10. Reservations are not required, but are highly recommended due to limited capacity, and can be made by calling 720-233-0811.

What to do this Halloween in Denver Option #3

Denver Open Media presents the Media Monster Halloween Bash. Happening at 700 Kalamath in Denver, this costumed dance party will have a haunted room, a chance to star in your own classic horror film and other spooky activities. It's also an opportunity for 15 minutes of fame as it will be televised live on Comcast. Tickets are $20 and include food and drinks.

What to do this Halloween in Denver Option #4

Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret, downtown at 1601 Arapahoe St., does it up for Halloween with Boo-lesque. The event features The Clocktower Clockettes performing spooky burlesque dancing, an interactive comedy show and a costume contest. Tickets are $25. The show starts at 8 p.m.

What to do this Halloween in Denver Option #5

Check to see if your favorite neighborhood "haunt" has a Halloween happenings. A few that do include;

  • The Hornet, 76 Broadway in Denver, is having a "Halloween Circus" with a costume contest and drink specials.
  • Sherlock's Pub Co. (locations in Lakewood, Westminster, Greenwood Village and Boulder) will feature a free costume contest, live music and happy hour until 9 p.m.
  • The Cooler, which doesn't have a web site but is located at 2045 Sheridan in Denver/Edgewater, is hosting its first "Twisted Halloween Party." Festivities include a raffle, costume contest and drink specials.
