Part 2 - The Coach
Hip-hop music is a vibrant entertainment choice. By taking the time to utilize the advanced Twitter search engine, the trending topics lists and searching for Twitter music lovers lists of hip-hop artists or rappers, hip-hop super stars and emerging rappers can be found.
Christopher "The Coach" Oglesby, has a gutsy, transparent approach to Twitter. He boldly reaches out to hip-hop fans, Twitter power users and industry professionals. His strengths are his openness and willingness to engage others on Twitter and his heart of gold. Tweet with him for a few days and it soon becomes apparent that this rapper wears his heart on his sleeve. After a friend beat breast cancer, The Coach became concerned about others fighting the cancer. He started a charity drive for breast cancer research before his first album dropped. "We just wanted to help out as much as we can." he said.
The Coach is geniune and works hard to present himself in an authentic manner. He doesn't rap about being in a gangs, shooting others or about being a pimp. Instead, he raps about his fear and happiness with becoming a young father, his appreciation for the guiding hand of a caring mother, hot women and the sometimes tough life of a working class, mid-western white kid. "It wouldn't be real if I tried to be gangsta. I want my music to be honest." Coach commented. Carving out his own niche is not always simple, "People want to compare me with Eminem or Vanilla Ice because I'm a white rapper. I'm so far from both of them." he says.
Like many rappers he values loyalty and is fiercely loyal to his family, friends and fellow rap artists from his label PadNPen Records. You will find as many tweets thanking and promoting others, as you will self-promotion on the Official Coach Twitter page. Only time will tell if drive, passion and openness will take him to the top. You can follow him on Twitter at @OfficialCoach.
The point is, be fearless when you reach out on Twitter. Especially, when trying to expand entertainment choices. The best relationships are organic and open you to new experiences. Happy tweeting!
