Big City Tap is a bar open until 4 a.m., offering 1$ beers every Tuesday and Thursdays. The choice of beer changes according to what is in stock, but this is a great deal regardless of what type of beer you drink. Typically though, the selection runs the gamut of American macro-beers from Bud Light to MGD.
In addition, there is a surprisingly, diverse menu for a late night bar. Big City offers typical bar food such as burgers, onion rings, and chicken wings as well as vegan artichoke hearts, tuna nicoise salad sandwiches, and a vegetarian roquefort sandwich. The best part is that the kitchen stays open almost as late as the bar, 3:30 AM.
This is a true rarity in Chicago.
The crowd changes from day to day according to whether a show is going on across the street at The Vic Theatre. Big City Tap is also next door to 1000 Liquors, which is one of the only 4 a.m. liquor stores in Chicago, so the night owls of the city converge here frequently.
