Lost reference: flash-forward timeline

When we first saw the flash forward, Jack was screaming to Kate
that they had to go back to the island.

Flash-forwards gave Lost fans a whole new reason to watch the show. The thrill of guessing who the Oceanic Six were, the excitement of witnessing how horrible their lives became off the island and the intense curiosity of finding out how they got off the island and what set them down this road... but let's face it: as fantastic as those flash-forwards were, they were out of order and some might be confused by when these things happened. To the best of my ability, here is a flash-forward time line:

*The Oceanic Six are discovered, give a press conference explaining their false story to the world. Sayid is reunited with lost love Nadia who was able to find him thanks to the publicity. (late '04/early '05)

*Pregnant Sun buys a controlling interest in her father's company, Paik Industries, in order to gain respect and get back at him for indirectly killing her husband. ('05)

*The Oceanic Six are close in the public eye and all attend Hurley's birthday party and Christian Shephard's funeral. Claire's mother, recovered and out of a coma, goes and tells Jack the truth that Claire is his sister. He can't stand to be around Aaron. (mid '05)

*Sun gives birth to a baby girl named Ji-Yeon. Hurley comes to visit her and they cry at Jin's makeshift grave.

*Ben pops up in Tunisia still wearing that puffy coat. He discovers Nadia has been murdered and uses emotional Sayid to kill one of Widmore's men. Ben then goes to Charles Widmore's home in the middle of the night. The two argue about the island and Ben vows to kill Widmore's daughter, Penny to get revenge for his own dead daughter, Alex. (fall/winter '05)

*Hurley is arrested after causing a high-speed chase. He thought he saw Charlie in a store and freaked out. He goes to a mental hospital and Charlie visits him, telling him he has to go back to the island. He is also visited by a creepy guy who says he works for Oceanic, but I don't know about you, but I don't really believe him. ('06)

*Sayid kills a man on a golf course and meets a German woman whom he falls in love with. But the plan was to get to her employer. Upon admitting to her his true intentions, he discovers she too was trying to get to his employer, Ben. She shoots him and he kills her. Ben mends his wounds and tells him he has another name for him. (early to late '06)

*Kate's trial. She talks to her mother who feels guilty and Jack testifies for her. When her mother doesn't testify, Kate makes a deal for probation and no jail time. She returns home to Aaron. ('07)

*Jack puts his guilt about Claire aside and he and Kate finally get together. They are happy and get engaged. Jack visits Hurley in the hospital and is horrified by his insanity. Jack feels crazy too, he sees Christian in his office. He starts taking drugs and grows suspicious about Kate when he hears  a secretive phone call. They break up when he gets drunk and jealous that she is doing a favor for Sawyer. (mid '07)

* Walt visits Hurley in the hospital and they talk about Jeremy Bentham and why none of them came to see him. He's all grown up. ('07)

*Sayid comes to take Hurley out of hospital after Bentham is dead.

*Kate has her creepy dream featuring a voice on the phone and Claire in Aaron's room.

*Sun meets with Charles Widmore and tries to start an alliance of sorts...

*Jack and his beard try to commit suicide after hearing of Jeremy Bentham's death. He meets with Kate and the two argue about going back to the island. Angry, Jack goes to the funeral home to look at the body of Jeremy Bentham in his coffin. He finds Ben there. They decide to try to get back to the island. Locke is revealed to be in the coffin.
