It seems the McCain campaign has found a talking point to address VP nominee Sarah Palin's lack of foreign policy experience - Alaska is next to Russia and that gives Palin foreign policy credibility.
Apart from being laughably dumb, it's also barely true. Look at a map. While the relatively narrow Bering Strait separates Russia from Alaska, it separates two very sparsely populated areas of each.
I heard it first on FOX News, and Cindy McCain repeated it today when she was interviewed by George Stephanopoulos.
Well, it looks like the McCain campaign has a story and they're gonna stick to it. Regardless of how ridiculous it is.
