Senator Chuck Hagel was interviewed on Bloomberg TV recently and suggested the emergence of a third party to replace the Republicans might not be such a bad idea.

I'm obviously not a Republican.  But I find it doubtful there are many Republicans who are happy about the course their party has taken.  I would bet many hope someone takes the reins and steers their party back to respectability.  They must acknowledge they're extremely vulnerable until an adult steps up and leads.
