A small group of hardcore Hillary Clinton backers hope to influence the Democratic Party convention in Denver next month to include a roll call for the nomination of Senator Clinton as the Party's presidential candidate. The Denver Group: Keeping the Democratic Party democratic, created by Georgetown Law professor Heidi Li Feldman and freelance advertising man Marc Rubin, ran an ad in Friday's Chicago Tribune declaring: Feldman argued that it is entirely conceivable that an open vote could produce a Clinton victory. "Then, the decision comes down to the superdelegates. I have no Idea what they are going to do six weeks from now."(Link) So, lets see; Barack Obama is leading in all the polls, is demonstrating competiveness in traditional red states, and is buidling an unrivaled campaign structure throughout the whole country. And these folks think the convention is going to decide Barack Obama should not be the nominee, and the party should instead nominate Senator Clinton. She has no campaign organization, will have been out of the contest for four months, and would be forced to wage a traditional Democratic campaign concentrating on traditional blue states. These folks are delusional. Sore losers are usually more discreet. |
