The ocean is flat, the beaches are flat. The fluffy sand of summer has been wind blown by last weekend's Nor'easter. Mounds of sand were blown to the back of the beaches, onto the boadwalk and into the streets and front hallways of the homes in Ocean Grove.
I had an inordinate amount of sand on my front porch and up my driveway, my house being situated the third one from the beach.
But today, ah, summer is back. People are back. They're at the beach sunbathing and walking over the sand on the boardwalk. Riding bikes, walking the pooch, and just letting the sun soak into their bones. It's great to be outdoors again.
I guess we shouldn't get too comfortable, it is almost November, and someone just reminded me of this weekend's forecast: we might have a wet weekend. I'm not letting it get me down.
So get out there and enjoy the beauty of Indian Summer. It makes you feel good about being alive.
