Halloween is not just for city slickers.  It's for little beach communities, too.   Even though the summer folks have gone back north, or wherever their winter homes may be,  the Grove is still exciting at Halloween time.  As the kids (and adults) finalize their costume selections, Trick or Treators will be on the hunt for goodies on October 31st in Ocean Grove.

Since Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, the kids will be marching around downtown Ocean Grove early in the day in their scary garb to visit the local shops and innkeepers to fill up their goody bags with loads of treats.  Hopefully, nobody will be playing any tricks!  But we never know who's going to show up to surprise the crowd,  but we're patiently waiting, only another  two weeks, when all you ghosts and goblins converge on the town, some as orange pumpkins, others as red devils; there might even be a princess or two in pink or blue, and maybe even a skeleton will rattle his bones to scare you with a big loud, "Boo!"

I know a sweet little girl named Amelia who has to choose between two customes she received as gifts this year: tiger cat or lady bug?  That's going to be a tough decision.   But as the day gets closer to Halloween, I'm sure Amelia's mom will figure out how she can wear both:  One for Trick and Treating with her cousins Lauren and Madison, and one for going downtown to see the sights and Trick and Treat with Grandma.

Everybody's getting excited and counting down the days until October 31st when the town explodes into a sea of colorful characters.  If you'd like to join us for the weekend or just a night, there are plenty of inns available at the winter rate.  A walk on the beach in the fall is as perfect a time as any, especially on a bright sunny day.  So we'll keep our fingers crossed for perfect weather.

Visits the hotels and inns on Ocean Pathway and throughout the town.  See the unique Victorian Halloween displays.  There's also a horse and buggy ride on hand for getting around town and seeing the sites.  It's a 30-minute tour that picks up passengers on Main Avenue and goes along the beach and boadwalk route.

Join our Ocean Grove family as we celebrate Halloween.  We'd love to share our special town with you.
