10 Most Popular Camcorders

April 26, 7:17 PM
by Hsiao-Ching Chou, Parenting Examiner

When I was a teen, camcorders were as big as a small suitcase and weighed 10 pounds. Now, they fit in your hand -- all the easier to record those priceless moment. If only it were within reach exactly when you needed it...

Here is a list of 10 popular camcorders from The New York Times/CNET.

My husband is a television producer (which makes it extremely difficult to limit TV watching in this house to just one hour a day) and his mantra for capturing video: Wide, medium, tight, hold for 10 seconds. Mix up the angles so that there are different perspectives to cut together during the editing process. Hold a shot for at least 10 seconds, because you can always edit down a scene, but you can't add more footage once you're in the editing process.
