Hsiao-Ching Chou is a partner at Suzuki + Chou Communimedia, where she serves as a senior consultant in communications. For nearly eight years prior, she was the award-winning food editor at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer newspaper. She and her television producer husband live in Seattle with their daughter, who was born in October 2006.
As many working parents know, there isn't much time for reading for pleasure. I have stacks of newspapers, magazines and books that taunt me from their perches: "Read me. Touch my pages. Let me tell you what's going on in the world." The one pleasure I CAN squeeze into my day is reading the cartoons in The New Yorker. They're witty and they make me feel like I haven't totally lost touch with my intellectual self.
What made me think of this was an email from The New Yorker Store selling an umbrella covered in the iconic cats and dogs from cartoonist George Booth.
