In the latest news and updates about Redoubt volcano: It's erupted at least six times since Sunday evening and shows no sign of letting up. Previous eruption patterns indicate that Redoubt may well continue releasing sporadic ash plumes and lava flows for weeks or months.

Use the following resources to keep current on the volcano's latest activities as you plan you outdoor activities:

  • The Alaska Volcano Observatory is where television and print news media gets most of its Redoubt volcano information.
  • The National Weather Service issues up-to-date ashfall advisory information as it becomes available. Until the volcano quiets again, make a habit of checking for ashfall advisories before you head out.
  • The Anchorage Daily News, Anchorage's only daily paper, has a volcano story on its front page almost constantly nowadays.
  • KTUU Channel 2 in Anchorage has extensive up-to-date volcano coverage, along with links to ashfall preparedness tips.
  • Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport is your starting point to get information about flight cancelations and airport closures, but travelers are encouraged to check in with their individual airlines before heading out to the airport.
