We're finally seeing some signs of the thaw, and I'm not referring to this especially cold and wet summer here in MA.

The National Association of Realtors has told us that purchases of homes have actually risen over the last three months, which is about the best we could hope for in terms of price stability.

I've come to the conclusion that I'll always be in the cautious camp -- I don't generally jump on any bandwagon until the wagon shows that it can roll -- but I can't help but be encouraged that we are at least seeing the bottoming process. Can this change? Yes! But, if you've been waiting for the prices of homes to rebound, or at least settle, this might be a good point to begin the process of looking for a home.

Watch the job market folks. When that starts to show improvement real estate should certainly follow as well.

Most of all: Take your time and find the right home to purchase. It's your money.
