Once again, data has flooded the airwaves and we're seeing some positive signs toward a possible real estate recovery soon. I'm still cautious, and will remain cautious until I see something that expressly tells us the real estate market in MA is improving, not just treading water.
As I hear about signs of a recovery in late 2009, I want to believe...I really do. And, I'm still in wait and see mode. If I were in a position to buy my first home ever, I'd be interested in moving forward. If I were upsizing from a smaller home to a larger one, I'd be interested as well. For anyone else, well, will the excellent interest rate opportunities outweigh the potential for more downside in the investment itself? Who can say? Not me, and probably not anyone. Ask me again over the next few weeks.
One more point. Being cautious is not the same as being frozen. Do your research -- this could indeed be a good time for you to buy.
