The Bird

The main ingredient for a healthy Thanksgiving dinner is a low-fat bird.  For a low-fat and healthy turkey, be sure to choose one that isn't self basting. Cutting the self basting, cuts added fat.   Additionally, do not stuff your turkey.  The liquids and fats that baste and surround a turkey during its cooktime are higher in fat.  Make your own lowfat turkey stuffing in a casserole dish and bake to the side.
