
The American Homebrewers Association is about to launch its 31st annual National Homebrewers Conference in Oakland, California. The event, mostly sold out two months ago, will be attended by 1,000 of the world’s best homebrewers and the many thousands of the world’s best homebrews.
Yesterday’s AHA twitter felt a tremble in the bay area, “I suddenly felt a disturbance as if millions of gallons of beer are on the move. Oakland will [be] washed anew with suds.” While there won’t be a million gallons of suds at the conference, there certainly will be a boatload as individuals and homebrew clubs from around the country bring their samples to share and talk beer.
Meanwhile, the final rounds of the National Homebrewers Conference are being judge as other beer moves in. Over 5,000 entries have been judged at regional sites across the U.S. and Canada and now the final rounds will choose the first, second and third place finishes in 28 categories. Winners will be announced Saturday, June 20 and posted on beertown.org
