How many times have you been asked, “If you were on an island and you could choose only one beer to bring along, what would it be?” For answering this question, help is on the way.
Now you can practice with me. I’ll be 5 days on Whitehead Island off the coast of Maine guiding a small group of beer enthusiasts in the art of beer decisions. With intensive practice, we’ll discover the nuances of beer accompanied with island life. It’s not a bad gig if you think someday you stranded on an island and you need to decide which beer to bring along.
From August 28-September 1, 2009 I’ll be instructing a program called The Art and Science of Beer: Brewing, History and Enjoyment.
I’ll be looking forward to discussing beer and brewing and my own remarkable beer journeys, teaching participants about brewing beer, tasting beer, cooking with beer, the history of beer, and simply enjoying beer. The four-night, five-day course will include demonstrations, lectures, informal socializing, great meals, a huge variety of beers, a journey by water to nearby Rockland to visit two brew pubs, and, as is true for all Whitehead Light Station courses, plenty of time to relax, read, and enjoy being unplugged and unhurried.
I’m looking forward to the possibility of meeting old friends and making new ones over, of course, a beer or two.
