Teo Musso, Casa Baladin for the New York Times, by
Dave Yoder

I’ve discussed Italian small brewers in several post the past week.  The New York Times published an article following mine that details activities much more than my Examiner format permits.  Take a look at their piece called: Savoring Italy, One Beer at a Time.  There’s one important thing both my article and NYT writer Evan Rail left out.   Even in Italy, Italian craft beers are very hard to find.
Actually the're nearly impossible unless you have been tutored or go to the brewery – source.   One good starting point is the Italian small brewers association web site.   Union Birrai has a member brewery directory that will get you started.  But you’ll have to ask around and speak some broken Italian to explore the delights of the majority of other small brewers.
Are any beers being exported to places like the USA?   Very, very few.  Perhaps one or two, so for now you’ll have to make the journey to Italy to get in on the new ideas coming out of Italy.
