Week eight of the ‘Dancing With the Stars’ competition begins tonight with only five remaining contestants. Who will survive to move on to the Final Four and week ten, and who is poised to hang up their dancing shoes?
Kelly Osbourne: The reality star has improved dramatically in the last few weeks, and seems to be gaining a larger following. Her future on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ lies completely in her hands. A great performance will almost certainly land Kelly in the final four. A misstep or poor performance will certainly send her home. For this one celebrity, it’s do-or-die time. Last week's score: 24 (tied for fifth place).
Donny Osmond: Donny has remained a constant in the competition. While his performances are not the best, his positive attitude and high energy have earned him high marks with the viewers. Donny O needs a strong performance tonight, but he has a huge fan base. A small misstep may not slam the door shut, but a fiasco would certainly send the pop star packing. Last week’s score: 24 (tied for fifth place).
Mya: The talented singer has also shown that she also has all the right moves. She has been the favorite since day one, but the judges remain split on Mya’s recent performances. Bruno and Carrie Ann are fans, but Len once again complained that she had too many gimmicks in her routine. Without a high score from all three judges, Mya may be the next upset and the next celebrity who goes home. Her routine must be flawless and improved. Last week’s score: 25 (3rd place).
Joanna Krupa: The swimsuit model made waves during week seven by receiving the highest combined scores. Derek and Joanna must attack week eight with the same gusto and energy that they brought last week. Without high scores from the judges, Joanna may be in jeopardy because she has a much smaller fan base than the other competitors. Like, Kelly Osbourne, it’s survival time. Last week’s score: 27 (2nd place).
Aaron Carter: Aaron his partner Karina may have the biggest handicap this week: both came down with the swine flu. While they were able to still practice (with masks on!), have they been able to perfect their routines enough to get high marks from the judges? Will they have the energy to once again rise above the other competitors? Any major mistakes in the routine will likely knock Aaron out of the competition. However, they will gain sympathy votes for having battled through a week of the flu. Minor mistakes shouldn't hurt them too badly for this reason.
In other Dancing With the Stars news: Susan Boyle will sing on Tuesday to promote her upcoming CD, “I Have a Dream.” Also slated to perform is Michael Buble.
