American Idol winner Carrie Underwood appeared on LIVE With Regis and Kelly today and opened up about her NHL boyfriend Mike Fisher and her upcoming hosting duties for the CMA awards. As always, the country songbird was charming and refreshingly candid about her continued success after American Idol.
Carrie Underwood told Regis Philbin that she is essentially a shy person, however she loves to sing. “You get to be another person and dress-up when you’re on stage,” she said. When Regis asked Carrie about her success after American Idol, she replied, “It feels like a million years ago, but in a good way.”
Co-host Kelly Ripa was curious about her romance with Mike Fisher, professional NHL hockey player for the Ottawa Senators. Carrie Underwood was a bit shy with her responses, but said that she doesn’t even know how to ice skate. When asked about the sport of hockey and its fights, Carrie told Regis and Kelly, “I’m not a big fan of the fights. It makes me nervous.” Carrie and Mike have been dating for about one year after meeting at a concert in Toronto through “a friend of a friend.”
Carrie Underwood will co-host the Country Music Awards with Brad Paisley on Sunday, November 11th. Carrie explained that she is excited to host the popular awards show yet again, and that she has nine different outfit changes during the live broadcast.
