This past week, school districts in Suburban Philadelphia began administering the H1N1 flu vaccine for students. School Districts throughout Montgomery and Bucks County will continue to administer the vaccine in upcoming weeks. Students in the Hatboro-Horsham School District brought home a permission form for parents to sign and return by this past Thursday. Vaccines were administered Thursday and Friday. If a parent chose to sign the form, the child would be given the vaccine at school. If a parent did not return the form, the child would not be given the vaccine.

Information was provided to parents along with the permission form (keep reading for more details), but unless a parent was willing to put a lot of time and effort into finding out the real story, this information is and was significantly misleading. (Skip directly to the MUST SEE video exposing the truth about vaccines.)

The form sent home to parents to sign included a note from the Safety Director for HHSD, Albert Hall, a permission form with a questionnaire related to the child's health status and the parent's preference for which type of vaccine would be administered (live, nasal mist, or injectable, inactive flu vaccine), information related to why the questionnaire was included and what the responses indicate, and information from the CDC on the 2009 H1N1 Influenza Vaccine.

Information from the CDC includes (please click on the links for specifics):

  1. What is 2009 H1N1 influenza?
  2. How is 2009 H1N1 different from regular (seasonal) flu?
  3. 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccine
  4. Who should get 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccine and when?
  5. Some people should not get the vaccine or should wait
  6. What are the risks from 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccine?
  7. What if there is a severe reaction?
  8. Vaccine injury compensation
  9. How can I learn more?
