Retired Sheriff Richard Mack wrote an interesting article that all Americans and especially our State Legislators and Governors should read.  In his article he references a successful Supreme Court case in which he was involved in and references Mack/Printz v US in which the Supreme Court clearly upheld the 10th Amendment and has several quotes from Justice Scalia in particular.

If the states do not want Obamacare, they have every constitutional right to ignore it and not impose this type of healthcare upon the people in their state.  Have we all totally forgotten that the Federal Government does not have this power under the Constitution?  It can not impose anything upon the states and the states can not impose anything upon the Federal Government.  They are both separate sovereign entities that were supposed to deal with different areas of responsibility.  Whatever happened to the fact that the Federal Government was supposed to only be limited to external affairs such as: matters of war and peace and trade with other nations.  Clearly federally mandated healthcare imposed upon the people of sovereign states is neither a Constitution area for a Federal Government to decide and also does not have the power to impose it on the States or to the people.

The 10th Amendment states that "the powers not delegated to the Federal Government by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."  Have we all forgotten that we were supposed to be a free people not under the thumb and tyranny of any supreme national government?  This used to be a Constitutional Republic with the only supreme law of the land being our US Constitution guaranteeing the enforcement of our god-given rights to all in our land.  Our Founding Fathers did not create a Democracy in which mob rules and individual liberties are trampled upon if you happened to be in the other 49 percent.

The Tea Parties that have been going on are a surrender to a power of the Federal Government that it does not even have the right to have.  If it refuses to back off then it is the gravest violation of the contracts with the States joining the Union to begin with.  If there is no other way, then the States should start complete succession immediately!

Wake up America!  We have a Constitutional Republic that ensures individual rights and our States are to protect its People from any intrusion or imposition of any Federal Government upon its sovereignty.
