In years past, it was decidedly easier for locals to hit the Sundance Film Festival on a whim. There was a time when you could drive up to Park City, park your car in the garage behind Main Street, and hit the wait line for a film at the Egyptian and see two movies in an afternoon.
No longer is that the case. Fortunately for us, Evany Thomas with Sundance has posted a detailed survival guide for locals (and anyone else) looking to see some movies during the festival. It includes how and where to buy tickets, to park and links to the box office.
There's also a lot of good advice in that guide I'd give you myself. The best piece of advice? Arrive early and take the bus everywhere in Park City. Driving in Park City during the festivites is like driving in Manhattan for the first time and not advisable.
