As if Valentine's Day,' which is to be released February 12, 2010 wasn't jam packed with enough starpower, there's also a movement to show off Hollywood's rising young stars! The romantic comedy directed by Garry Marshall (left) (Pretty Woman, The Princess Diaries) is about intertwining couples that break up and make up because of the pressures of Valentine's Day. While the cast is virtually a who's-who of Hollywood with Jamie Foxx, Patrick Dempsey, Eric Dane, Queen Latifah, the two Jessicas (Beil and Alba), Ashton Kutcher, Anne Hathaway, Julie Roberts, Jennifer Garner (pictured below with co-star Jonathan Morgan Heit) it also gives us a glimpse into the next generation of Hollywood A-listers! Here's a sneak peak!
Perhaps the most famous young celebrity in the flick is Twilight's Taylor Lautner. The 17 year old plays a high school prom king. His queen? Taylor Swift! The two reportedly got very close, even kissing, on the set...but apparently it was all for show! (Or was it??)
Eighteen year old Emma Roberts, joins her Aunt Julia, on the set. The young star plays the character Janice. While Emma took time out to shoot Valentine's Day, she'll also appear it at least three other movies (4.3.2.1, Twelve, What's Wrong with Virginia) set to hit theaters in 2010, and potentially four or more in 2011.
Carter Jenkins, best known for his tv roles including Surface, Unfabulous, CSI: NY, CSI: Miami, House, and Without a Trace, moves to the big screen for his supporting role in Valentines Day. The 18 year old Florida native plays the role of Alex.
Nine year old Jonathan Morgan Heit (pictured below with Jennifer Garner) and ten year old cuties Bryce Robinson and Ariyana Morris are three more
celebrity kids to watch for in Valentine's Day.
Jonathan Morgan Heit plays a bored, attention seeking, class clown in the movie. Of his 'annoying" character, Tough Franklin, the curly haired cutie tells Examiner.com, "I was bored with school. I was playing with the globe and standing on the chair. It was really fun." Jonathan also describes his time on the set of the movie as fun. "Garry Marshall was really nice. I hope to be like him, cause he's still out there at that age," the giggling fourth graders say of the nearly 75 year old highly decorated director. The world will be seeing and hearing a lot more from Jonathan Morgan Heit in the coming months. The youngster who made his big screen debut in Bedtime Stories last year has numerous projects under his belt including one of the leading roles in ABC's upcoming holiday special Holly and Hal Moose: Our Uplifting Christmas Adventure based on the webisodes from the Build a Bear website. He's also starting a major role on a new animated Disney TV series Jakes Team Pirates as 'Chubby,' one of Peter Pan's lost boys. Just last week Jonathan shot a guest appearance on the sitcom How I Met Your Mother which has yet to air.
Bryce Robinson plays the character Edison. You may recognize him from Marley & Me or one of the dozen or so tv shows he's appeared on including FlashForward, October Road, Medium, and Without a Trace.
California native Ariyana Morris appears as the "the soccer girl" in the flick. Valentine's Day is Ariyana's second major production (she played the lead on the TV show Your Kid Ate What?). She's also had minor appearances on Days of Our Lives and in a Black Eyed Peas music video. While her budding career is only beginning to take off, Ariyana tells Examiner.com, "I want to keep being an actress. It's fun to be on TV and have fans. Mostly you get money and put it in charities, like kids that want to make a wish or kids that don't have food or water," and with true passion in her voice she ends by telling me, "I love helping out kids."
