Would you like to be a part of animal history? Save-A-Pet is having a contest to rename their FIV room.
Every year thousands of cats are euthanized after testing positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This happens because people are not informed and the unnecessary deaths can easily be avoided by becoming educated about what an FIV diagnosis means. Save-A-Pet is one of the few shelters in Northern Illinois that does not euthanize its FIV positive cats.
FIV positive cats are able to lead normal, healthy lives and in 2006, Save-A-Pet built a new room to help expand their intake of these cats as well as improve their quality of life. It is now time to give the room an official name, and they’re looking for the public’s help.
All submissions must be postmarked or delivered to Save-A-Pet no later than Saturday, November 14th at 6:00 p.m. Submissions can be mailed to Save-A-Pet, Attn: FIV Room Naming, 31664 North Fairfield Road, Grayslake, Illinois, 60030.
Submissions can also be emailed to specialneeds@save-a-pet-il.org.
You can download a copy of the entry form at Save-A-Pet’s website, where you’ll also find the contest rules and regulations.
The winning name will be selected by a panel of judges and will be announced on Saturday, December 5th at Save-A-Pet’s annual Holiday Open House.
