Fiesta Hermosa on Sunday, May 24th 2009 was a blast. And you’ve still got tomorrow to enjoy it. With art, crafts, clothes, music and food, food and more food in abundance how could you not have a great time? But add to that a perfect day, our Beautiful Pacific Ocean, smoking hot babes and tanned surfer hunks; does it get any better than that?

Well, yes because no matter when you choose to go to Hermosa Beach and stroll down Pier Avenue turning either left or right on  ‘The Strand’ you’ll find eateries of all persuasions that will make your mouth water. I’ve put a slideshow together of just a few of my favorites because frankly there just isn’t enough room in the slideshow to capture all the great places there are to eat. .

The Light House- on the court- I snuck in there at 15 not to drink but to listen to some of the greatest Jazz and Blues artists of our time. I hear the venue has changed but it’s comforting to still see the brick and mortar and the ancient sign in tact.
Good Stuff on The Strand. Where I’ve eaten plenty of good stuff over the years after a nice run on the beach, a great place for locals to meet up.

A favorite little spot on Pier Avenue, Photo by Loraine Alkire.
Also, Hennessy’s Tavern on the corner of Pier and the Strand and its great view of the
ocean and the surfers headed out on their boards.
But there are other restaurants and joints, I just couldn’t fit into the slideshow, like Sangria on the court, Ragin’ Cajun, Club 705, The Beach Hut, Café Boogaloo, my head is spinning. I ate too much funnel cake.   So I’ll end now with a reminder that while tomorrow may be the last day of Fiesta Hermosa 2009. You’ll enjoy the savoir faire of this little beach community and its many restaurants and stores on just about any day. And finally, what would Hermosa Beach be like without the Poopdeck?  Better!!!

Hermosa Beach is great fun any day- But the fiesta is a real treat
