
The Honda NSX or Acura in North America was a Japanese sports car produced between 1990 and 2005 by the Japanese automaker Honda.
If a poll was taken as to which Honda you would like to own in the tuner world it would be a NSX and second would be the S2000.
Upon it's release in 1990, the NSX was a design ahead of it's time. Starting with it's mid engine rear wheel drive set up, all aluminum V6 engine featuring Honda's VTEC system ( variable valve timing and lift electronic control). The NSX also sported a all aluminum chassis, front and rear wishbone suspension with forged control arms connect to a set of forged alloy wheels. It also was the worlds first production car engine with titanium connecting rods, forged pistons and ultra high revving capabilities. Redline was 8,000 rpm.
The NSX is considered one of the most reliable exotic cars out there. Honda hand pick ruffly 200 or so of it's best and most experienced workers to assemble the NSX. Honda engineers designed the NSX in search of the perfect balance between power and reliability. So they produced a powerful naturally aspirated VTEC engine suitable for extreme demands on both road and track.

In 2002 the pop-up headlights were replaced with fixed Xenon HID headlights and wider rear tires to go with the revised suspension . The fixed roof model was also discontinued in 2002. . A 4-speed automatic transmission with manual type shift option was also available.
In 1991 the NSX was a technological marvel, but by 2005 Ferrari had gone from the 348 which was the benchmark for the NSX to the F355, F360 and the F430. So in July 2005, Honda officially announced that it would stop producing the NSX.
The last NSX sale in the U.S took place in Spokane, Washington in the summer of 2006 originally intended for the Honda museum.

In 2007 American Honda confirmed a new NSX powered by a V10 engine would hit the market by 2010. But in December 2008 after Honda's revised financial forecast along with the poor economic conditions all plans for the new NSX had been canceled.
