On January 20, Barack Obama will be inaugurated as the first Hawaiian born and raised President in U.S. history. He has publicly said that his Hawaiian upbringing has profoundly affected his life values and outlook. Obama regularly returns to Hawaii for holidays with friends and family. For example, during the recent New Year holiday he stayed at an exclusive beach front property in Kailua, just outside Honolulu. During his Presidential administration, it is expected that he will return for future holidays. When he does, he may be the first U.S. President to catch sight of one of the mysterious UFOs often seen flying near Hawaii’s famous beaches.
Hawaii has been for many years a hotbed of UFO activity. Many eyewitnesses have given accounts of different kinds of UFOs seen near its pristine tropical beaches. The UFOs have displayed spectacular aeronautical maneuvers, making sudden right angle turns, accelerating very quickly, and/or becoming stationary for long periods of time.
Large cylindrical objects have been sighted which can be as big as aircraft carriers. On January 26, 2007, for example, Honolulu resident Peter Hollingworth described what appeared to be a large cylindrical UFO he and many others saw about 45 degrees above the horizon around 6:20 pm. Video of the UFO was recorded from the KHON 2 SkyCam. The FAA reported nothing unusual and there was no statement by military authorities on what the UFO was.
More remarkable are sightings of UFOs entering in or out of Hawaiian waters. More accurately called Unidentified Submersible Objects, USOs have often been sighted by fisherman and U.S. Navy personnel. According Bill Holden, a retired Loadmaster and Flight Steward for Special Air Missions with the U.S. Air Force, he regularly flew U.S. Presidents and VIPs to different locations. He served with Presidents Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon, and even got to discuss UFOs with Kennedy.
In 1966, Holden was part of a special mission where high ranking US Navy personnel were taken to an undisclosed location in Hawaii where USOs were sighted flying out of and back into the Pacific Ocean. Holden said: “And a little after 7 in the morning … this craft comes out of the water, from our left to our right, just goes SHEWWW [makes sound of fast movement] just like this, and then stops out there in front of us.” He described it as a “double elliptical saucer-shaped craft” that was approximately 50-60 feet long.
Holden went on to describe its movements: “Now, it sits out there and then almost instantaneously disappears. So everybody's excited about what they're seeing and everything. And about this time somebody yells, “It's back!” And it's now a little bit closer, about a hundred yards out, maybe 100, 200 feet off the water, and it then demonstrates ... as far as going up and down, side to side, cants left and right, and cants at an angle and goes right back into the water. Now, when he goes into the water – and when he came out of the water – there was no explosion or implosion as it went back in.”
When President Obama does return to Hawaii for future vacations, he will be in a position to learn more about Hawaii’s USOs. If so, he can ask to be briefed by his future Director of National Intelligence (DNI), retired Admiral Dennis Blair. Blair is a former Commander of the Honolulu based U.S. Pacific Fleet. Blair would almost certainly know about USO activity in Hawaiian waters, and could easily inform the President during one of his daily intelligence briefings.
