This little doodad is the Sanyo Stick Booster; a small portable device charger with a standard usb connection. It comes with two high quality Eneloop rechargeable batteries. This is one of the most practical device charging systems I've seen. The size pretty much allows it to be an extra item in your pocket or your backpack pen holder slot. You could even be a bit greener and use those muscles with wind-up AA batteries.
The Sanyo Stick Booster will go on sale in Japan on 12/1/09 and you can preorder it for 3,100 Yen or $34.41.
