What's the best part of a rainy spring day? Fabulous accessories, of course.

There's nothing as classy as a form-fitting trench. Whether you opt for Target or Burberry is obsolete.  The key is ensuring it fits just right.

If you are petite:

Opt for a short, simple trench.  If it's too long or has too much going on it will be overwhelming.  Keep it fun with bright colors and buttons.  Try the Merona Short Trench Coat in Butterfield Yellow from Target. The Super Target on Michigan Road has a wide variety of options.

For something longer, try the Impermeable Platinum by Weatherproof Short Double Breasted Trench from Nordstrom at Keystone at the Crossing.

If you have a boyish figure:

Opt for one with a removable belt. Being able to move the belt to the right spot to make it appear that you have a waistline is essential.

Try the Kenneth Cole New York Trapunto Stitched Trench Coat from Nordstrom at Keystone at the Crossing. The exaggerated collar will broaden your shoulders, thus creating the appearance of a waistline.

If you're looking for more of an investment, try the Cotton Gabardine from Burberry at Keystone at the Crossing

If you are curvy:

Choose a simple, a-line cut.  Try options like a single-breasted style, plain patterns, and buttons near the top.  Be certain that the buttons don't pull.  Trenches without belts can be especially flattering too, as they slim the body.  If you prefer a belt, opt for one that accentuates your natural waistline.

Try the London Fog Raincoat or the Calvin Klein Long Raincoat, both from Macy's at Castleton Square Mall.

If you are tall:

With extra height, you have more room to get a little wild.  Try a ruffle, crazy pattern, or an oversized collar.  Just make certain it's long enough.  If any part - even the sleeves - are too short, it will look like the coat is too small.

Try the Jessica Simpson Satin Trench Topper from Nordstrom at Keystone at the Crossing. The oversized belt and buttons will remove the focus from a longer torso.

If you're feeling wild, try the GUESS? Zebra Print All Weather Trench, also from Nordstrom at Keystone at the Crossing.
