Jennifer Carter, a secretary at Palmer Elementary School, has been arrested following allegations that she duct-taped the mouth and wrists of a student who was misbehaving last week.

6-year-old Joshua Fredericks was acting up in class and was sent to the principal's office. While in the main office, he apparently continued his antics and Carter proceeded to duct-tape his mouth closed and his wrists together.

Following the incident, Carter was placed on administrative leave and the principal of the school, Liz Trujillo, sent home a letter to parents to notify them of the incident.

Denver Public Schools has issued a statement that they are working with the Denver Police Department regarding the case.
