Jordan Wynn passed his first test as starting quarterback on Saturday, as Utah easily defeated New Mexico, 45-14. Early on the Ute offense seemed out of rhythm with Wynn throwing his first interception as a Ute on the tail-end of a drive that could have potentially put Utah ahead 14-7. No matter, Utah rallied back to take a 17-7 lead at halftime. Eddie Wide made life easier for Wynn as well, as he ran for 145 yards on 20 carries with two touchdowns, a Ute record 5th consecutive 100 yard rushing game by an individual player.
Next week, things will get much for difficult for Utah as they head to Ft. Worth, TX to take on undefeated TCU. TCU, currently 9-0 and ranked 4th in the latest BCS poll, after beating up SDSU on Saturday, 55-12. This game will be the first test for TCU in some while, with the Horned Frogs' last close-call coming at Air Force on 10/10 in a 20-17 game. Eddie Wide may have to have his 6th consecutive 100 yard rushing game and Jordan Wynn may have to play like an experienced quarterback in order for Utah to have any chance of winning next Saturday.
