Scrappy Sock Yarn Blanket
SAM photos, with permision

— While “thumbing through” Ravelry late at night, this writer noticed a gorgeous baby sweater, Elizabeth Zimmerman’s February Baby, with lots of YO’s and more that was started on November 2 and finished November 8 on size 4 needles, a project of sam's. Amazing!

Looking a little farther into this knitter’s projects, each one hearted as a favorite at least a kazillion times, the photos, so amusing, just made the projects pop. The one that struck paydirt was her “scrappy sock blanket” using the “Bobby’s Garden” pattern.

Samantha (sam) is British, replanted in Colorado, obviously has a great sense of humor, and is an exceptional knitter and artist. Visit Samantha’s blogspot, it’s a nice one, very informative, up-to-date, breezy and happy...it’s called sticks, strings and crafty things. The colors Samantha has used in her queen size blanket are delicious, there is no other word that is more appropriate.

Slideshow is below for you to enjoy.

The pattern for the blanket was designed by Megan Rogers, a graduate student, living in Philadelphia, and can be purchased on Ravelry. Reach the designer via email at dullegriet84atyahoodotcom. Bobby’s Garden is a wonderful idea for your scrap sock yarn and uses a simple hexagon design!

This pattern gives details for:  -baby blanket, throw blanket, twin, queen, and king sizes  -instructions on creating the border for the blanket, including the fractions of hexagons. -yarn requirements for all sizes, including the specific colors and quantities used in the original blanket. -schematic diagrams for all sizes. -as always, pattern support. -the pattern is available as an 8 page PDF download. Buy all Megan’s patterns here.
