Many people mistakenly presume that the majority of all sultry and hedonistic behavior happens in non-stop party places like Las Vegas or Bourbon Street. Because, really, what kind of affluent, prosperous, and globally influential city would host an event that is as tantalizing and risqué as the Exotic Erotic Ball, where men and women are allowed to party freely in nothing but skimpy lingerie and leather chaps? Then again, many people also mistakenly underestimate the potential of San Francisco’s wild side.

Though San Francisco’s easygoing atmosphere is traditionally renowned for the Summer of Love and gay rights movements, its more recent endeavors include slightly more racy events (though equally as enlightening), like Exotic Erotic Ball. An extension of the philosophy, “Make Love, Not War,” the ball “celebrates human sexuality and freedom of expression,” inviting people to dress up in their sexiest attire. The ball also features over 65 live performances, including top DJs, musical guests, strippers, fetish expos, interactive games, 20 burlesque acts, and a special appearance by MTV celeb-reality star, Tila Tequila.

The steamy celebration kicks off with the expo at 4pm Friday at the Cow Palace in Daly City, the same venue where the ball will be the following night. For $20 (plus service fees), guests can see a lingerie fashion show, sample wines with adult celebrities, attend a human petting zoo, and even see world-famous penis painter, Tim Patch, a.k.a. Pricasso, an Australian artist who paints beautiful masterpieces using only his penis. Both Friday and Saturday night there will also be an array of artists performing and spinning new tracks, including old-timers like Coolio and DJ Skribble and new rising sensations like the Impotent Sea Snakes.

On top of all that, it’s also the ball’s 30th anniversary or, more cleverly written, the ball’s XXX anniversary. So, needless to say, creators Perry Mann and Louis Abolafia are commemorating the milestone mark by making this ball to be the naughtiest yet.
